Miya Folick banishes her bad feelings on the buoyant “Get Out Of My House”, announces new album

Miya Folick will release a new album called Roach on May 26 through Nettwerk. She has also shared a new song called “Get Out Of My House”, saying:

“‘Get Out of My House’ was one of the first songs I wrote for my second album. It’s about a person, but it’s also about a certain bad habit and a certain bad feeling. ‘Get them all out of the house,’ is what I’m saying. It is absolutely an exorcism.”

The song starts with Folick slightly trepidatiously addressing the bad person that she wants out of her life; “you never wanna touch me / you only wanna make me cry”. As the song progresses and builds up steam into a gallivanting pop rocker, Folick’s determination and spirit also increases; “I love being on my own with you / taking off my clothes without you.” Each time she orders “get up / get out of my house” in the chorus it’s delivered with more fire and fury. By the breathless and euphoric finale, she’s banished every bad person and habit in sight, leaving only romance and sunshine streaming out of her eyes.
