Mereki makes her “Presence” felt on new single

Nothing brings a person into the present moment quite like music, diving in a swimming pool and driving a quad bike wearing a princess dress. You can experience all three on the video for Merekiโ€™s new single โ€œPresenceโ€.

The Australian/English artist wrote the first verse of the song while hearing Dhani Harrison and Blurโ€™s Graham Coxon recording on the floor below. She shared her work with Harrison, who helped her finish the song.

โ€œIโ€™m not saying that Iโ€™m enlightened and I live in โ€˜Presenceโ€™ all the time โ€“ far from it,โ€ says Mereki. โ€œIโ€™m just trying to say that I know what it is when I can, and itโ€™s so beautiful. I want to share that with people because I truly believe that when I can pull myself back into the present moment, really โ€˜be here nowโ€™, then everything is so lovely. I want that for me, and for you, and for everyone. My mind gets the better of me all the time and I need to train it not to. I guess this song is kind of an anthem for that.โ€

Earlier this year, Mereki enjoyed another memorable Now Moment when she made her UK live debut at the Glastonbury Festival. The multi-talented artist is currently working on a childrenโ€™s book and a collection of portrait photography.
