Katie Crutchfield makes stripped down punk-infused intimations about love, life, and all the shit that breaks us down. And as such, the latest track “Coast To Coast” from Cerulean Salt, her debut album as Waxahatchee, comes as a bit of a surprise, at least sonically. This way-too-short rocker replete with stacked harmonies, chugging guitars, and anthemic girl-group vocals makes for a great, if altogether too brief, detour from the darker introspection on the rest of the album.
