Gearing up for the release of their debut EP Nightingale on February 19th via Post-Echo Records, dark pop band VYIE have recently released the latest track from that set. “Darrrk Knight” layers rows of shivering synths among the crisscrossing vocals of frontwomen Jessi Monroe and Janey Criss. The sense of icy pop euphoria eventually leads to drummer Alec Yeager stepping in and setting everything against a thumping percussive beat. The resulting pop amalgamation bears more than a striking resemblance to other intensely melodic synth acts like Zola Jesus or Grimes. The band is also getting ready to head out on the road in support of the EP, and they hit up the eastern half of the US in the first leg of the tour.
