Even though she won top honors at the 2023 International Singer-Songwriter Association (ISSA) awards, Laura Musgrave is a rocker at heart. The East Midlands-based artist has a new single called โHabit Of A Lifetimeโ that will transport you instantly to the heyday of Paramore, with just a hint of contemporary greats like Pale Waves. Produced by Becky Willard, the new single has been featured on BBC Music Introducing.
โThe song is about that moment when you realise that the only way to change the situation is to walk away,โ says Musgrave. โStaying in a relationship with someone who won’t meet you halfway means losing yourself, and you can’t let that happen. This is the turning point where you decide to say goodbye to old habits and put yourself first.โ
Musgrave makes occasional co-writing trips to Paramoreโs hometown of Nashville, where she was nominated for a โRising Starโ award at the 2024 Josie Music Awards.
โHabit Of A Lifetimeโ proves that thereโs still a huge market for music steeped in the retro vibe of Avril Lavigne and Paramore.
