My favorite pop songs are the ones that sound like you’re entering the pearly gates of paradise, without a care in the world. That’s an apt description of “All Night”, the new duet from Aussie artist Kita Alexander and British pop riser LAUREL. It’s a preview of what’s to come on Kita’s debut album Young In Love, which drops on March 22.
Musically, the single has many of the feel-good qualities of a song with a similar title: Lionel Richie’s classic “All Night Long”.
“This song is about having that one friend who is always there for you and can pull you out of dark places,” say Kita. “On the first listen back we realised our voices actually have a really similar tone, but if you focus you can definitely differentiate us as we tag team the lyrics.”
LAUREL adds, “This track is so summery and playful, it’s actually my first duet. The chorus gives me a real Spice Girls vibe as we’re singing about leaning on our friends.”
