Freddie Gibbs rips through the aggressive chest thump that is “Ice Cream” alongside Rick Ross

Even considering his (more than disappointing) recent support for Joe Rogan and his eye roll of a beef with Benny the Butcher, there’s an undeniable sense of hype that comes along with any cut that Freddie Gibbs deigns to drop. This time he’s brought along everyone’s favorite charming drug dealer cosplayer, Rick Ross, and the two tear into a tribute to Raekwon’s classic “Ice Cream” with a track of the same name.

However, any sense of chart-seeking romanticism is absent here, with the pair instead opting to lay into their favorite subjects, namely chest-thumping boasts and lingo as to how much work they’re pushing. The beat is the clearest reference to the Wu original, with Kenny Beats piecing together bits of the sample used in RZA’s original track for something speedier and decidedly more in-your-face.

Having signed to Warner, expectations are high for what’s sure to be his most high profile release to date, stay tuned here for more information as it becomes available. Simultaneously, Gibbs has been making strides in his acting career, including a role on 50 Cent’s Power Book IV: Force.
