Having returned last month with the spectral “The Darkness”, Arabella Rauch aka Josin gives us another new beauty today called “Traveller”. She says:
“Traveller is a about belonging, being lost and returning. Of places we wish to be able to hold on. But the cycle that holds for water, that travels from rivers to oceans to rain, might also be the way we are connected and moving in this space. Being not only surrounded but made from water, we don’t need to feel apart from anything.”
Using a combination of synths, keys and subtle strings to make a song that sounds like music of the breeze, Josin evocatively puts us into her mind as she sends out psychic tendrils around the world. She’s searching for connection, for love and happiness, her rich voice stretching each syllable so we can feel the sheer soulful effort. Through the delicately arranged loops of melody, we full the push and pull of this need building inside her, being reciprocated, then drifting away and her starting again. “Traveller” is neither a happy nor sad song, but purely human; it is the need for comfort and home turned into graceful and stately sound.

“Traveller” is out via Mercury KX and a new EP from Josin is expected later this year. You can find her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
