Nashville artist daena’s new video for her single “Karaoke Bar” is an ode to one of the nation’s most iconic lesbian bars: the Lipstick Lounge in East Nashville.
“The Lipstick Lounge is a staple in this town and a safe space for so many of us,” says daena. “In the video, I wanted to show how places like this take care of their own. This community can take what might start as a night shadowed by heartbreak and just lift you up and make you feel so loved. I hope that love and joy for each other comes through in this video.”
“Karaoke Bar” is as shimmering as a disco ball and deserves to be a multi-format radio hit. The singer, who originally hails from Bruce Springsteen’s beloved Jersey shore, has a fabulous voice that can shift effortlessly from pop to rock and even R&B-flavored songs.
