Caroline Polachek will release a new album called Desire, I Want To Turn Into You on February 14. It will feature previous singles “Bunny Is A Rider”, “Billions” and “Sunset”.
The album’s title is taken from a line in the new single “Welcome To My Island”, a boisterous piece of punchy and percolating pop. Polachek’s paradise features windswept palm trees and blue ocean, and she welcomes us with a gust of her unmistakable voice and a flurry of throwback electronic beats. There’s even a quasi-rap quality to her effusive verses, where she warns unfolds lessons and announces that “nothing’s ever gonna be the same again”. You better like it because “you ain’t leavin’,” she warns.
