I’ve been lucky enough to catch Nat Vazer on tour a few times now. Her (and her tight knit band’s) shows always offer visceral catharsis, guitar-heavy, danceable jams with Vazer’s lyrics and emotive singing dealing the key wallops.
While her debut, Is This Offensive and Loud?, was rather raw, its followup, Strange Adrenaline, boasted a more polished, sleek, and warm sound, two sides of a coin, each with their strengths.
What her third LP will prove to strive for, we can’t be sure, but we now have the latest taste of what’s to come.
Guided by keys, synths, and her gorgeously ghostly voice, “For What” captures our terminally online, constantly imploding world with blunt, deceptively simple words: “Another country burning on my TV, for what?”
While Vazer’s songwriting has often cloaked a stark emotional gut punch, her latest offerings have, more than ever, extended beyond the existential crisis of personal turmoil into a more globally stressed out consciousness. It’s a dread any of us with a functional conscience and awareness experiencing our current shared reality can relate to.
Check out “For What” below and stay tuned for more soon to come from Nat Vazer in 2026.
