Back at the start of the year we put together a feature detailing our most anticipated albums of 2013. Under the ‘Speculative’ section we hoped for a new album from Texan art rockers Spoon, with singer Britt Daniel having divulged that the band would meet in February, even while his new band Divine Fits was still touring and working on new material.
Since then all had gone quiet on that front, but those subscribed to Spoon’s mailing list received a very welcome update from the band today. In the brief missive they informed fans that they are “totally in progress” with a new album and that “shit is sounding good,” before listing some names of new songs with typically Spoon-y titles like “The Rent I Pay” and “Naff Bag.” Check out the full update about Spoon and a new Divine Fits single below.
