Ferry Townes and Liz Gillies impress on “What You’ve Done”

The new single “What You’ve Done” by Ferry Townes and Liz Gillies gets my vote for Best Duet of the Year. It’s an intimate ballad that’s totally stripped of any superfluous studio shenanigans.

Julia Gargano uses the stage name Ferry Townes in honor of her home borough of Staten Island. She has the talent to eclipse all the other famous Staten Islanders in the music biz (Joan Baez, Christina Aguilera). Julia’s recent debut album Side Effects Of Happiness is a fabulous collection that includes ultra-catchy songs like “Times Two” and “Still Mad”.

Liz Gillies is a well-known actor (Dynasty, Victorious) who also plays gigs at the prestigious Carlyle Hotel in NYC. Gillies released a highly entertaining 2021 album with Seth MacFarlane.

“We are both singing this song about our own situations,” says Gargano. “It’s my favorite part about it being sung in two-part harmony. It feels like two friends venting with one another. And I adore how our voices sound together, that was such a bonus!”
