Woods announce summer tour

Brooklyn folk-pop act Woods have announced a small summer tour of the West coast, scheduled around the Woodsist Festival. Throughout, they’ll be performing with Woodsist labelmates The Art Museums and The Mantles, a bluesy garage-rock band from San Francisco. Singer-songwriter Kurt Vile and New Jersey surf-poppers Real Estate will join them on the second half of the tour.

Woods are supporting their excellent and very summery LP At Echo Lake, while The Art Museums have recently released Rough Frame, their debut, which is full of catchy lo-fi indie pop. The Mantles are a darker pop band who have worked with members of Papercuts and released a full-length for Siltbreeze Records. Kurt Vile’s new EP, Square Shells, anchored by “I Know I Got Religion,” features more of his atmospheric guitar tunes. Real Estate’s self-titled 2009 debut received tons of positive press, and the band features members of Ducktails and Alex Bleeker and the Freaks.

Here are the dates:

Monday, June 7 — Seattle, WA, Tractor Tavern // Woods, The Art Museums, The Mantles
Tuesday, June 8 — Vancouver, BC, Media Club // Woods, The Art Museums, The Mantles
