Brooklyn and Los Angeles, it figures. If something cool is happening in the U.S., more often than not it is in one of these two areas, or in this case, both. Wanda Jackson, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee for her contributions to developing rockabilly, will play the Music Hall of Williamsburg on January 21st and the El Rey Theater on January 23rd in support of her new album, The Party Ain’t Over. Well, clearly, she’s right.
The record is being released on Third Man, Jack White’s label and the guitar god himself provides production on the piece. So, it is only fitting that he plays guitar for her shows, right? No, actually, it’s surprising and amazing. Jackson will be backed up for both shows by what is being billed as the Third Man Records House Band. Tickets are going to be tricky, so start working.
