On Sunday night at the Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise show in Pittsburgh, Jeff Mangum and Julian Koster, both formerly of Neutral Milk Hotel, went into the middle of the crowd and performed. In The Aeroplane Over The Sea B-side “Engine”.
This is the first time that Jeff Mangum has played a Neutral Milk Hotel song live since 2001 in which he played a single show in New Zealand.
