Disco. There was a time when this was a bad word. Remember Detroit Rock City when the Kiss fans meet the disco fans. Shit went down, I think…it’s been a long time. Anyway, these days, disco is more of a rad word…it’s okay if you never speak to me again after that joke.
Toro Y Moi’s second single from the upcoming Underneath The Pine (our February 22nd on Carpark Records) is far from the chill-wave-horse he came in on. Sure it’s still filled with nostalgia, but this journey into the past is unapologetically fun, something that is not necessarily expected but surely not unwelcome.
