TATYANA is a UK-based musician who has today released her debut song and video “Wild Card” – the culmination of a rich musical and cultural upbringing. In brief, Tatyana was born to Russian and English parents, and was then brought up in places dotted around the globe including Holland, Russia, Singapore, and Boston – where she attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship. Building on those foundations, TATYANA honed her musical skills playing harp on tour with Neneh Cherry and immersing herself in different scenes, with the London rave scene having a particularly profound effect upon her.
With all of this going on in her mind, it’s no surprise that TATYANA’s debut single is called “Wild Card”, and even less of a surprise that it’s a beguiling and uplifting delight. Her harp is prominent, but doesn’t dominate the song, instead fluttering across silken synths and dramatic rumbles of percussion, while her multi-tracked voices braid themselves together into a beautiful focal point. “Wild Card” is pure, simple expression; a powerful realisation that “nobody knows better than you do”, and following your heart is the way to true blissful happiness.
