Up-and-coming Australian R&B singer Milan Ring has shared a new song called “Are Your Friends Alright?”, which was written and recorded in advance of the current quarantine, but seems particularly timely.
She reflects on feeling down, and considers putting herself in isolation while she figures out her shit, but then realises she needs get out with her crew to feel her fully powerful and expressive self. This realisation is set to a deep groove, over which Milan Ring shows off her rich vocal skills, with plenty of sass – while expressing devotion to those she counts most dear. Ultimately, “Are Your Friends Alright?” swaggers and bounces with perfect confidence, and reminds us all how great we can all feel when we’ve got the right people around us.
