Dan Deacon is releasing a new 7″ for Record Store Day that will be limited to 500 copies. The release features a new track called “Konono Ripoff No. 1” on the A-side, and an instrumental version of the same track on the b-side. Both versions feature dual drummers, but the drummers are different on each version. Kevin O’Meara and Jeremy Hyman drum on Side A, while Denny Bowen and Dave Jacober are on Side B. The song is a tribute to Congolese Konono Nº1 and has played a part in Deacon’s live shows for a while, but this will be the first time it will be released. If you’re not sure you’ll be able to make it down to your local store on Record Store Day (April 20th) to pick up one of the very limited pressings, then at least you can stream the A-side version below.
