L.A. artist LINNEA loves all kinds of pop music, ranging from the lonesome, desert-y music of Kacey Musgraves and Chris Isaak to British punk rock greats like The Buzzcocks and X-Ray Spex. She describes her debut single “Lone Star Motel” as “desert sleaze” – and it feels like a lost weekend in Lubbock, Texas (even though the motel photos were shot in Hollywood).
The singer has been hard at work on her follow-up music with producer Jonny Bell, cutting at his famed Jazzcats studio in Long Beach, California.
LINNEA is a huge fan of the late great fashion designer Vivienne Westwood, and the singer’s fashion flair matches the mood of “Lone Star Motel” perfectly. We expect that her second single – a rock banger – will feature accompanying art that takes us back to Vivienne’s iconic SEX boutique in mid-70s London.
If Lucinda Williams and The Buzzcocks’ Pete Shelley had a kid, she’d sound like LINNEA. So crack open a Lone Star beer and share the intimacy of LINNEA’s imaginary Texas motel.
