Kevin Shields said to be finishing new My Bloody Valentine LP

Kevin Shields has been said to be working on the follow-up to Loveless since the early nineties, including completely scrapping some nearly completed recordings. Well, an inside source to One Thirty BPM has told us that Shields is at work on it again and has sought outside management to assure that it sees its completion. The recording could see realease as soon as this year. MBV’s PR could not be immediately reached for comment.

Loveless is considered a classic by just about anyone who listens to music and following the record they jumped to Island records and used their advance to construct a studio, but then things sort of collapsed and numerous efforts were abandoned. What will new My Bloody Valentine music sound like? We’ll probably know more in a few months. Until then, stay tuned.
