Fiona Grey is the people’s pop star on “Rat On A Wheel”

About 98% of pop music is about romantic love, so it’s refreshing to hear a socio-political song like LA artist Fiona Grey’s new “Rat On A Wheel”. You don’t have to attend a Bernie Sanders/AOC rally to know that the economic game today is rigged. Ordinary folks are falling further behind while billionaires prosper.

The song is just one of many great moments on Fiona’s debut album Adult Tantrums.

“‘Rat On A Wheel’ is my anti-burnout anthem – a glittery middle finger to the chaos of capitalism,” says Grey. “I wrote it inspired by the realities of the world we live in: billionaires dodging taxes, rent rising faster than paychecks, and cocktails somehow costing more than minimum wage. The song lives in that tension. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt stuck in the system and forced to smile through it.”

On the new single, Fiona isn’t a Cinderella clamoring for an invite to the next Met Gala. She’s merely wanting a ticket to the elusive middle-class where home ownership isn’t a fantasy. Let’s start by demanding that Congress overhaul the streaming laws so that artists like Fiona Grey can be fairly compensated for the music they create.
