Darkside crunch up Tropicalia on the erratic “Graucha Max”

With a string of live dates coming up – including their first North American dates in 11 years – Darkside have released a new single called “Graucha Max”.

The band – made up of original members Nicolás Jaar and Dave Harrington alongside drummer Tlacael Esparza – have created something misshapen and compellingly uncategorisable on “Graucha Max”. There are tropical hints in the rhythms and tones, but they are in the midst of a gnashing whirlpool of pyschedelic synths and kraut-y guitars. The result is a song that continually shapeshifts like an robotic and sparking uroboros. You feel you want to pull away from the carnage, but it has no problem sucking you into its chaotic gravity.

Listen to “Graucha Max” below or find it on streamers.

“Graucha Max” is out on Matador. Find Darkside on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Bandcamp.
