Couch Slut release “Ode To Jimbo”, their savage serenade to their favorite bar, announce album

You might not immediately deduce it from its anguished and cataclysmic blackgaze mayhem, but it really is true. Couch Slut‘s new song “Ode To Jimbo” is actually a pretty sweet and wholesome serenade: not to a person, but to a place. The notorious New York-based ruckus-makers happen to be head over heels for their local watering hole Jimbo Slim’s, and boy, they sure have a way of letting this sentiment be known.

“‘Ode to Jimbo’ is the first, like, love song that we’ve ever done, and I did that for my friend’s bar that I go to every day,” vocalist Megan Osztrosits explains. The best way to show that type of love is to describe one particularly bad bender in one of your heaviest songs.

In addition, Couch Slut have announced their new albumYou Could Do It Tonight, out April 19 via Brutal Panda Records. Preorder it here. The band are set to perform at the Valhalla for Heavy Music, Roadburn Festival, the next day on April 20, where they will play the record in full.
