Clairo has revealed that her new album Charm will be out on 12 July and has shared the lead single “Sexy To Someone”.
It’s an irresistible introduction to the winsome 70s-indebted sounds that Clairo and co-producer Leon Michels (of The Dap-Kings and El Michels Affair) have created on the album. It bounces along on a boisterous piano and drumbeat, Clairo’s insecurities coming off like carefree worries of someone who knows they’re already all the need and are perhaps just a bit bored and looking for something new. Her vivid interior world is brought to life with regal woodwinds and crafty synths, making this an ultra bop for walking through the park, daydreaming about potential hookups.
