Alejandro Escovedo to release Street Songs of Love on June 29

Singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo is set to release his tenth solo record on June 29, through Fantasy Records/Concord Music Group. The album will be entitled Street Songs of Love and features guest appearances from Bruce Springsteen and former Mott the Hoople frontman Ian Hunter. According to press release “Bruce Springsteen and Alejandro trade lines around a nasty guitar riff on “Faith,” a tightly woven rocker that bores in and never lets go” while Ian Hunter appears on “Down in the Bowery” which is described as “[…]perhaps the album’s beating heart on which Ian Hunter contributes full-throated vocals”

The album will be produced by Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T. Rex, Thin Lizzy), who produced Escovedo’s 2008 album Real Animal, and several of the songs are co-written with Chuck Prophet, who co-wrote the entire Real Animal album with Escovedo. The album is also supposed to be more of “a band record”, featuring Escovedo’s backing band ‘The Sensitive Boys’ (David Pulkingham, Bobby Daniel and Hector Munoz).
