Dntel has been working with Sub Pop for what seems like forever. From 2007’s Dumb Luck to 2010’s After Parties EP series to, of course, the now-classic album from The Postal Service, Give Up, their relationship has spawned a fair amount of quality music. Give Up on its own is Sub Pop’s second best selling album ever. But, Dntel’s best album was not originally released on Sub Pop, 2001’s Life Is Full Of Possibilities. Now, with an announced reissue of this album by Sub Pop, this situation is about to be rectified.
For those of you not familiar with Life Is Full Of Possibilities, the album contained a great many collaborations with the renowned electronic producer, the most notable of which is the song “(This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan,” which features Ben Gibbard on vocals and led to the making of The Postal Service album. The rest of the album is excellent as well, and, under Sub Pop’s guiding hand, will see release as both a double-CD and double-LP. The double-CD version of the album will include a re-mastered version of the original album on one CD and a collection of both previously released and new remixes, plus outtakes and b-sides on the other. The double-LP version will spread the re-mastered original 10-track album across two pieces, with the bonus material included in the download that comes with the record. Notably, this is the first time that Life Is Full of Possibilities has ever appeared on vinyl.
The album will be reissued in October, marking the ten year anniversary of this landmark effort. Dntel also has some tour dates scheduled, which we have included below.
