Without any kind of fanfare, or even a slight warning, cult duo Mazzy Star are returning with a new release for the first time since 1996’s Among My Swan.
The last we had heard from Mazzy Star was in 2009 when they told us they revealed they were working on new material, but as they are wont to do, they never followed up. Now, out of nowhere, they are releasing a new single called “Common Burn” with a new b-side called “Lay Myself Down.” The songs will be released digitally on October 31st and physically on vinyl in the near future. No word has been given yet as to whether this will be a one off single or the first from a new album, but hopefully we will find out soon. (And hopefully the answer will be the latter.)
