Update: We previously reported that featuring James Murphy and Pat Mahoney from the New York dance group LCD Soundsystem has formed a new group with members of Hockey Night. This turned out to be false.
Hockey Night, which consists of Paul Sprangers and Scott Wells are merely changing their name (undecided yet) and are hitting the studio to record a new album. James Murphy is producing and playing instruments throughout the album, but is not a proper member of the group.
Pat Mahoney, also from LCD Soundsystem, will be providing some bass and drum tracks, while Gerry Fuchs and possible members of Hercules and Love Affair also help out.
While the only proper members are Sprangers and Wells, Murphy and co. might be joining “Hockey Night” on the road, as they are in the process of forming a touring band.
