What is an interesting collaboration, Alice in Chains & Elton John have collaborated on their upcoming album Black Gives Way to Blue. Elton John lends his piano playing on the song “Black Gives Way to Black” – which was written as a tribute to the bands late lead singer Layne Staley who died in 2002. The band were recording near a studio near Elton John’s, and the British based singer contacted them that he wanted to meet. After hearing the song, he wanted to contribute as he thought the song was beautiful.

The band is set to release Black Gives Way to Blue on September 29th.
