For us here at One Thirty BPM HQ it was love at first listen of Total Babes’ debut album Swimming Through Sunlight, an album so packed full of hooks and energy that I’m pretty sure it’s impossible not to smile while listening. The album is perfect for summer, but unfortunately doesn’t come out until towards summer’s end (August 30th on Old Flame Records), but once you’ve heard it, you’ll get in plenty of spins before summer’s out – you won’t be able to help it.

Plugging away since 1999, The National finally hit mainstream success with the release of their 2010 album High Violet. Of course, this entailed their first world tour, but in the new documentary Mistaken For Strangers, it’s only the backdrop for the relationship between lead singer Matt Berninger and his younger brother Tom, who had no idea that these short videos he was shooting would turn into a public document of their troubled, if still loving brotherhood.
