Almost a decade and a half after Black Star’s debut album Talib Kweli and Mos Def Yasiin Bey decided to bring their project back to life by taking it on tour. They then announced that they were working on new material with Madlib, performed the new song “Fix Up” on Colbert and hinted that they were working on a whole new album. Last Friday they released “Fix Up” with a B-side called “You Already Knew” for Record Store Day’s Black Friday, which gives us more hope that a new Black Star album really is going to come out. The two tracks have now surfaced online and you can check out both below; “Fix Up” was produced by Madlib, while “You Already Knew” sees Madlib’s brother Oh No in control.
