Although the coolest part of Battles’ new singles series (which gets its second installment on February 20st via Warp and titled Dross Glop 2) is the fact that you get some interesting artists remixing Battles tunes from last year’s Gloss Drop, it must be noted that the second coolest part is the album covers, which take on variations of the original one from Gloss Drop. This newest release features alternate takes from The Alchemist, KODE9, and, as you can here below, a Shabazz Palaces mix of “White Electric,” which pretty much just becomes a Shabazz Palaces song. Listen below and look for the 12″ at record stores soon.
