New Jersey legends Yo La Tengo will release their 16th album This Stupid World on February 10 through Matador. They have previewed the nine-track album with lead single “Fallout”.
The new track finds Yo La Tengo in fuzz-up form, charging forwards on resonant guitars and buzzing bass. Ira Kaplan complements these wind-tunnel sonics with a vocal that sounds battered, pushed back and finds him wishing to “fall out of time” and “reach back… unwind.” The band’s bluster only picks up though, driving forward in three-pronged unison we’ve come to know and love them for over these decades.
