Upon first glance, you’d be forgiven for thinking Lou Doillon’s debut song was about a tragic time in hospital. But as any broken-hearted person knows too well, dealing with the end of a relationship can often seem and/or feel terminal, like some horrible disfiguring accident. “ICU” most likely doesn’t actually stand for “Intensive Care Unit”, but instead – going by the lyrics – it abbreviated “I see you.” And Doillon sees her past life as she walks the streets of Paris in the video for her song, as shots of empty park benches ache meaning now gone from her life.
