This one’s been around a little while now, but it’s interesting for a couple of reasons so we thought we’d share it with you. The performance comes from Coldplay’s recent show on Austin City Limits and the first and most interesting thing is they played with Michael Stipe! On top of that, the R.E.M. front man lets slip a little tibbit before they start playing, saying “we’ve been working on a project.” What that means, who knows; searching YouTube it seems that Stipe has been performing this cover of Joseph Arthur’s “In The Sun” with Coldplay as far back as 2005, so either this song has nothing to do with the “project” or it’s just been taking a very long time. Either way, this is a nice high quality recording of a fine performance, and we hope you enjoy it.
