Austin City Limits is a PBS program that, personally, introduced me to a host of bands at a young age, including Bright Eyes. Most bands that play the live concert show are relatively established, but the show is extremily selective in who gets to play and the acts chosen usually represent music that goes beyond genre and exudes quality.
That being said, The National and Band Of Horses are prototypical Austin City Limits bands. They both have multiple trong albums in their back pockets as well as commercial recognition. Check out the full episode from their appearance:
