Released last week, Baptist Girls, the debut release from Bro. Stephen (the moniker of singer songwriter Scott Kirkpatrick), has been picking up some quiet buzz. The album is chock full of somber and ornate indie folk, full of mourning, longing and solitude. It would have been a perfect addition to our recommended winter albums.
“Tears On Tape” is the record’s second track and sums up the sound of the record in a gorgeous three minute ballad. Check out the video for it below, and if you like what you hear then head to Bro. Stephen’s label Crossroads of America’s Bandcamp to stream the whole record and perhaps purchase it.
Look out for our review of Baptist Girls, coming tomorrow.
