Poignant Scottish rockers The Twilight Sad have announced their timely return by releasing a new song called “Kill It In The Morning.” The song has a heavy industrial vibe and could be said to be more menacing than anything they’ve released before.
“Kill It In The Morning” is the first taste of the band’s upcoming third album. Details on the album are scant, but we can tell you that it’s going to be called No One Can Ever Know and is expected to be released in February next year on FatCat Records. While “Kill It In The Morning” is the first taste of No One Can Ever Know, the first official single will be “Sick,” which is due out digitally on November 15th.
Of the sound of No One Can Ever Know, the press release tells us that it “marks a sonic shift for The Twilight Sad – though of course, they maintain their trademark darkness and depth – with moments reminiscent of the most innovative offerings of Depeche Mode, The Cure, or even Nine Inch Nails.” You can certainly hear a lot of that in “Kill It In The Morning.” Listen below.
