Artist and producer Tess Henley just doesn’t have time for your shit. Her latest single, “Not in the Mood” is an anthem to self-reliance and just plain old needing some space. We’re not certain if she just needs a break from whomever the song is directed towards, or dislikes them completely, but regardless, it makes for a uniquely blunt, standoffish pop gem.
With a slinky funk backing, the track gracefully coasts through Henley’s desire for peace of mind and her own presence, free of distractions and irritations. Following her last single, “Good for Me”, Henley has clearly established a knack for songs that cut right to the quick of an emotional issue.
Check it out below, and look out for her upcoming EP, Paramount, soon.
