Self Esteem urges you to keep grinding on “If Not Now, It’s Soon”

Rebecca Lucy Taylor aka Self Esteem has her new album A Complicated Woman arriving at the end of April and has this week shared another teaser from it titled “If Not Now, It’s Soon”. She says:

“Personally, you have to wait and one day you’ll get somewhere less painful. But the world will hopefully get somewhere less painful too. It’s about hope, perseverance and patience!”

Self Esteem has become the foremost purveyor of empowerment anthems that are riddled with cheekiness – and “If Not Now, It’s Soon” is the latest in the lengthening line. Atop staccato strings, she speaks directly to the listener, but draws from her own experiences of past questionable behaviour. Nevertheless, she is eminently encouraging, reminding you that everything you are is building towards something greater. Bringing back the choir that has become her calling card, the glorious unison of voices assures you that whatever is right for you will happen before too long, and the forces of nature and positivity “will guide you through”. Preaching patience and perseverance in truly uplifting tones, it’s another great from Self Esteem.
