Multi-instrumentalist and producer Salami Rose Joe Louis — aka Bay Area resident Lindsey Olsen — will release her new album, Lorings, on April 25 via Brainfeeder. Working almost exclusively with her Roland MV8800 workstation, the album finds her delving into the nuances of her own experiences and personality.
“I was hoping to bypass the distillation process of overthinking outside perception,” she says. “Each song feels like a significant section of my personality has been carved out and put on a platter for public consumption, which is a devastating thought [haha].”
She shared the record’s initial teaser, “Arm fell asleep“, back in January and now offers our first official glimpse with “Inside”.
Olsen explains: “My hope, by putting [“Inside”] first on the record – and making it the first single – is that some of the songs that follow have more levity and hope, leaving this heaviness behind.”
