Australian quintet Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are exactly a month away from the release of their second album Sideways to New Italy, and today they’ve shared a new song and video from it called “Falling Thunder”.
Tom Russo told The Fader that the song is “about pushing on through the relentless march of time, against the constant cycle of seasons. And the way people change and relationships change. It’s set in that time when autumn is turning into winter and the trees are getting bare.”
Rolling Blackouts are known for the perpetual momentum of their music, so “Falling Thunder” is once again a perfect vessel to describe their moods shifting with the world around them. Packed with hooks on hooks, and no shortage of emotion bundled with them, this is peak RBCF. Watch “Falling Thunder” below along with the video by Jamieson Moore.
Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever’s new album Sideways to New Italy comes out June 5 on Sub Pop.
