Rico Nasty has shared details of her upcoming album, Lethal, which is due out on May 16 via Fueled by Ramen. It was executively produced by Imad Royal and finds the rage-rap star confronting the trap-pop persona she created when she was a teenager. The record still hits the highlights from her recent work: the gallows humor, heavy guitar presence, and feminine anger. But it reveals a more nuanced look at how she perceives her own sense of womanhood.
For our first glimpse into its wild volatility, she’s offering “TEETHSUCKER (YEA3x)”, a distorted electro-punk banger that reinforces her love of blurred genre experimentation.
“‘TEETHSUCKER (YEA3x)’ was both the first song I wrote for the album, and the first song I ever wrote with Imad Royal, who executive produced LETHAL,” says Rico. “We all knew this song was special from the moment we turned it in. And what’s a better way to start the new era than by poppin out like a titty????”
