Nick Diamonds of Islands releases solo album online; pay what you want for it

Nick Thorburn, perhaps better known as his stage name Nick Diamonds, is just over a month away from releasing a new album with the super group Mister Heavenly, but despite touring and recording with them he has also found time to put together an album of 11 solo tracks, and an accompanying EP.

The album, entitled I Am An Attic was revealed by Diamonds via Twitter with a simple tweet “RT + be gentle” with a link to his bandcamp, where unsuspecting clickers found all this waiting for them. Diamonds shortly followed up that tweet with another, confessing “hate to be self-deprecating, but seriously don’t get your hopes up.”

Well, Nick shouldn’t be so down on himself since I Am An Attic holds all the characteristics we’ve come to know from him and his many projects over the years: the interesting introspective lyrics, nice instrumentation and unexpected musical twists.

The album is free to stream on the bandcamp page, or using the widget below. If you want to download it to keep you can pay what you want for it, but those spending over $10 get a free accompanying 6-song EP entitled I Am An EP.

So go ahead and listen to it below, then head to Nick’s Bandcamp to put your valuation on it.
