Pamplona, Spain-based band Melenas have returned with news of a new album called Ahora (“now”), which will be released on September 29 through Trouble In Mind.
The first song to be shared from the collection is “Bang”, an affirmation of their self-worth and self-control. With gliding and sparkling organ churning over a motorik beat, “Bang” is immediately hypnotic, and when they start to layer in their voices it becomes downright infectious. The song is about finding power in saying “no”, of doing away with negative forces and capturing the moment for oneself. As Melenas cruise along their glistening wave of stripped-back psych, it’s easy to hear that they’re filled with self-confidence.
