The new Liv DeToma and Nora Banks single “slowburn” is hands-down the best collab of the summer. The project was conceived when both artists lived in L.A., but now Banks is a brand-new New Yorker.
Both artists are stellar vocalists – and “slowburn” is hypnotic and beautifully crafted. Jay Rence’s production perfectly captures the song’s emotional ache and vulnerability.
“This was my first collaboration as a solo artist, and it came together like a dream,” says DeToma. “Nora and I knew a midsummer vibe was what we wanted to do, and this is the slinky, siren song that resulted. I think this is some of my best songwriting work, thanks to Nora and the amazing production that resulted from her teamwork with Jay.”
“Making ‘slowburn’ with Liv and Jay was a magical experience,” adds Banks. “We wanted to capture that feeling of a fleeting summer romance, of the excitement and anxiety of still pining for the one that got away.”
