Chicago folkie Joe Pug and his band are heading out on their first headlining tour, and in contrast to the ticketing industry’s inflated pricing, they’ve announced that tickets for most of the tour will cost only ten dollars. By selling them through the band’s own website, some tickets are even being offered without any added-on service charges. Over the past few years Pug has toured with the likes of Josh Ritter, M. Ward and Steve Earle supporting his 2010 album Messenger, and also appeared at festivals like Newport and Philadelphia Folk, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo. Unless you live in Ann Arbor or Salt Lake City, where the proceeds will support non-profit arts organizations, seeing Joe Pug for only ten bucks is about the best bargain in rock.
