Jim O’Rourke, the beloved musician who has worked with both Sonic Youth and Wilco, should excite music geeks everywhere with the announcements that he has teamed with Christoph Heemann (Mirror, Mimir, H.N.A.S.) for a retrospective of their two-decade long collaboration. Titled Plastic Palace People Vol. I. , the sound is described as “a mix of granular synthesis and concrete sounds, drawing from a wide-range of interests and backgrounds, reshaped and reassembled after all these years.” It’s also been described as a “heavy, spooky, three-part journey.” (Tiny Mix Tapes)
The album will be out February 22nd on Heemann’s Streamline Records, with distribution by Drag City. Check out the track list and be amused by the amount of insight the song titles convey.
